The Reaping

Last night I went to see Dead Silence (creepy film), and saw a trailer for this:

It looks very interesting - let's just hope it's not preachy! Going to try and catch it at the movies, and if I do expect a review of it soon after on this site.

I forgot to say :-(

Hi Reader (yes, I think there is at least one of you out there reading this blog now and again)... I forgot to add some updates here about what is going on with the site. Well, everything is now up and running and appears to be working fine. If you (my loyal reader) find anything not quite performing as you believe it should, let me know a.s.a.p. - ta!

So what's new? Well, I have just added two new reviews to the site, which you can find my clicking on the links below:

I enjoyed both these items, but for very different reasons (as you will see if you read the reviews).

I have also just seen that my Amazon.com review rating is now at 131,170. I wonder if it will ever break the 100,000 mark, and how many of the damm things do I have to write before it does... :-/

Thr3e things...

For those who are interested:
  1. All the lesson pages have now been completely revised and updated (http://www.thatreligiousstudieswebsite.com/lessons.html)
  2. Having read the Bible I thought I would give the Qur'an a look - I'm on Surah 3 at the moment!
  3. I'm now off to watch the making of The Devil's Rejects on DVD.

I lied... :-(

Okay, so I got my finger out and managed to finalise the updates a little quicker. For the sharp-eyed amongst you, you will notice that I have changed the placement of Google ads on pages and removed some of the more distracting ones. I have also added (or significantly updated) the following pages:

Expect some reviews and new updated pages later this week...

Normal service has now been resumed!

Updates... finally!

The new updated site should be up and running by the end of this week... (and it's about time too!).

The new F1 season

Oh man, I cannot wait for the new F1 season to start (Voiceover: 'Err... isn't this a Religious Studies website?'). Testing has suggested that Renault might not be the all-conquering force it has shown itself to be these last two seasons, and especially without Alonso on board (methinks he was wise to jump ship - and was advised by someone in 'the know' to do so). Instead, Ferarri and McLaren look to be the pace-setters for 2007, but BMW and I would also add Williams look good mid-field contenders ready to pounce when the opprtunity arises. The no-surprise flops in testing (for me) were Honda and Toyota, who have consistently shown that they still have much to do to attain the lofty heights they aspire to (despite the improvements Honda made late-2006). I can only assume that if Toyota go another season without a win, that we will see them pull out of F1 very soon.

My personal disappointment is Red Bull... With Adrian Newey now installed as chief designer, and having had the best part of 2006 to develop a brand new car, I thought they would be snapping at the heals of the front runners. My only hope is that testing has been a blip, and that their true force is yet to be witnessed... God I hope so!

Anyway, here are my predications for the forthcoming season (in case anyone is still reading), and if you fancy a wager down the bookies between now and the first race:

Driver's Championship

  • Felipe Massa

Team Championship

  • McLaren

Most improved team (from 2006)

  • Williams

I also predict that Toyota and Honda will not win a race, and that the former will announce their intent to withdraw from the F1 championship from 2009 onwards. We will also see Giancarlo Fisichella not having his contract renewed with Renault, and as a result retiring from F1 in 2008.
